I’m divorced and have re-married; can I cover my new spouse under the same Funeral plan?

Yes, you can cover your new spouse following divorce. Visit our nearest office with your marital settlement agreement for new amendments in your funeral plan.

Your membership will be re-activated as soon as you pay a premium .You will, however serve a three month waiting period. There is no need to pay for the months during which your membership was inactive.

You can cover one spouse, your children and up to three adopted children or children for whom you are a legal guardian and up to four dependants under your funeral plan.

A first-time members are required to provide a valid national identification card, drivers license or a passport that includes their national identification card number.

To add your partner, please visit our nearest office with your national identification card, your partner’s identification card, and a marriage certificate. If it is a customary marriage, you will need to provide a family letter. Please note that your partner will serve a six-month waiting period before being fully covered under your pan.

Our services are available both inside and outside the country. If death occurs in an area without a mortuary, it is important to inform us immediately. We will provide guidance and advise you on the next steps to ensure that the necessary arrangements are made.

To make a claim, you will need to provide:

A certified copy of the identification document of the person with whom the funeral plan is registered

A certified copy of the deceased’s identification document.

A certified copy of the death certificate

Proof of payment for the last six months

Yes, we offer Cremation services

Yes you can conveniently pay your premium electronically through several options, including Mpesa, Ecocash, Cpay and bank transfers.

Yes a group scheme is designed for families and larger groups as long as the number of participants meets the requirement of at least 25 people and more.

Yes we do offer repatriation services from South-Africa, even for individuals who are not members of our funeral plans. Please contact us for further details on the process and requirements.

Yes, you can apply for membership using your South-African identification.

Yes if the deceased is covered under the lipapatlele funeral plan, you will be assisted without any additional charges, even if the passing occurs while they are in the country.

Our plans have an age limit of 65 Years and below on policy holders. However there are no  age restrictions for spouses of the policy holder, so they can be included regardless of age.
